::I wish there was more ruins. Because there was so little left 🤏

::Interesting place, ruskies had big plans but the fortress never really finished before it was destroyed in the war. The museo also is worth to visit.

::This wonderful spot is historically significant and beautiful. The new visitor centre is worth going to, explaining why the spot is so significant - but also giving context to why Mariehamn was built, and why Åland is a demilitarised zone. The walks around are lovely. Worth a visit!

::Very cool place to visit. Recommending for you guys. Take a basket to have a nice picnic around the bridge, which is close by the old fort. Walk around the fort area and enjoy all kinds of views. After walking take ice cream at nearby Cafe or nearby kiosk. Enjoy the day and don't forget to charge your battery 🔋 to your cellphone.

::There was a huge naval bombardment of this Russian fort during the Crimean War. Whatever was left was blown up with huge amounts of gunpowder, leaving few clues behind. Some of the structures have been partially reconstructed to give the visitor a sense of the immense scale of this installation. It is set in a beautiful place and is worth a visit! There is good bus service from Mariehamn and there is a cafe nearby for refreshments.
