::A very unusual, bright and beautiful place! Once you are here, you immediately get the feeling that you are not in the administrative center, but on the coast of some modern resort. The entire space around the Lagtinget building (the parliament of the Åland Islands) is open, clean, filled with air and light. White columns, strict geometry, neat flower beds - everything looks stylish, as if you approached a hotel on the shore. Very well-groomed. Honestly, I did not even expect this - benches, lighting, nice compositions of flowers, flower beds and herbs. And what especially pleased me was the huge number of seagulls that scurried around, sat right on the letters of the building and created that very sea atmosphere. They really set the mood! Special attention - to the elevator. Everything is thought out: you can go up to the upper platform, where there are minimalist tables and benches with a view of the port and yachts. A great place to just sit or even work on your laptop. And also stylish parking and plenty of space to walk, breathe and just slow down. And yes, there are places to eat and drink coffee nearby. So if you are looking for a beautiful, spacious and unusual place to walk in Mariehamn - I recommend it with all my heart.

::Recently I visited Självstyrelseparken again — and I was sincerely amazed by how this place has transformed after the reconstruction. Previously, it was just an ordinary park, and now it has everything you need to spend time with pleasure. They added comfortable picnic spots where you can calmly relax, eat and just enjoy nature. They installed an elevator that connects the parking lot with the upper part of the park — this is especially convenient for families with children and the elderly. There were really a lot of people, and this is understandable — now it feels truly comfortable and modern. I was very pleased with how stylishly everything is decorated: wood, metal, concrete and high-quality modern tiles were used. Everything looks thoughtful and harmonious. The view of the sea from the top point is simply mesmerizing — I stood there and did not want to leave. A real pleasure from a simple park — as if I had ended up in another country.
